Spreckels financial records primarily concern the financial activities and investments of Adolph and John Spreckels. The bulk of the collection spans the years from 1880 to 1925, documenting the financial transactions of several joint ventures statewide. Includes ledgers, journals, cash books and other materials relating to the Coronado Beach Co., Hotel Del Coronado, California Sugar Refinery, and other Spreckles ventures. Includes papers on the yacht Venetia, which served in the U.S. Navy in World War I. With these are 2 albums of newsclippings from 1934 to 1944.
